‘THE FUTURE OF CINEMATOGRAPHY’, in association with Zeiss, is one of several themed panels taking place at this year’s Paris International Film Festival 2021, taking place 4th – 14th February 2021.

Tickets available at: https://www.parisintlfest.com/

Three practitioners in the craft of Cinematography will be discussing their processes as their work is showcased in the Paris International Film Festival.

Directors of Photography Volodymyr Ivanov (ANNA, a Short Film which was World Premiered at Cannes), Daniel Balint (DP on Nora Lakos’ CREAM, the ‘Valentine’s Special’ at the Festival) and Dave Miller (DP on THE CUNNING MAN) will reveal some of their ideas and interpretations in a panel which will be moderated by Zeiss with Festival Director Jenna Suru.

Among Ivanov’s most prominent works are short films “Cross-Country” (dir. Maryna Vroda, “Palme du Or” Festival du Cannes Short film competition 2011), “Anna” (dir. Dekel Berenson, Festival du Cannes official selection Short film competition 2019; Toronto International Film Festival official selection Short film competition 2019), feature film “Bad Roads” (dir. Natalya Vorozhbit, “Verona Film Club Award – Most Innovative Film in the Selection” Venice Film Festival Critics Week 2020).

In addition to CREAM, Balint has forged a career as both a Cinematographer and Director and for more than a decade has developed and learned his craft on films like BAD POEMS, PROMENAD and EARLY WEDDING.

After graduating Media Production at Bournemouth University, Dave Miller shot his first feature film, My Last Five Girlfriends, which starred Naomie Harris and cameoed Michael Sheen. He then went on to shoot the critically acclaimed Microwave feature Strawberry Fields, which was directed by Francis Lea and starred Christina Bottomley.

Since then, Dave has continued his career in television, shooting a range of food shows featuring the worlds best-known chefs, including Jamie Oliver, which has subsequently led him to specialise in food commercials for a diverse range of brands around the world.

Last year, he shot The Cunning Man, a short film directed by Zoe Dobson. Since its premier, it has won over twenty awards at festival around the world, including three for best cinematography.

The other panels cover Casting and The Future of Film-Making.
