Jenna Suru, Festival Director of Paris International Film Festival, announced today updated news of the upcoming Script Competition that is taking place as part of the 2021 Edition, taking place in February 2021.

Reflecting on the upcoming event, Suru had this to say:

We’re thrilled by the fantastic scripts we’re receiving for the script competition of the Paris International Film Festival this year.

Once more, screenwriters and film-makers are showing how resilient there are and how creative they can be, even in these transitional times, telling stories with meaningful messages that break barriers and make this world a better place or point at major topics that must be dealt with.

We champion film-makers who go the extra mile and are committed to tell heartfelt and meaningful stories from all genres and languages. The scriptwriting process is obviously a major part of the making of the film, we sure don’t want to skip that part and are thrilled to put screenwriting into the spotlight, now more than ever when filming is limited due to pandemic restrictions.”

Submissions are open on Film Freeway until December 7, 2020 for both Short and Feature Scripts. Excerpts of the winning scripts will be read by actors during the virtual screenwriting competition ceremony on Festival Dates early February.
