Quentin Tarentino

With The Hateful Eight gaining speed, mega-star director, Quentin Tarantino has been talking about his future in film and revealed he plans to quit the business and retire, after his tenth film.

According to Deadline, Tarantino was addressing a collection of potential buyers at THE HATEFUL EIGHT international buying assembly and mentioned his step down from the directors chair; “I don’t believe you should stay on stage until people are begging you to get off,” says Tarantino. “I like the idea of leaving them wanting a bit more. I do think directing is a young man’s game and I like the idea of an umbilical cord connection from my first to my last movie.”

The KILL BILL director seemed pretty realistic about the cut throat film business while he continued; “I’m not trying to ridicule anyone who thinks differently, but I want to go out while I’m still hard… I like that I will leave a ten-film filmography, and so I’ve got two more to go after this.”

With hardcore Tarantino fans finding the news a little hard to swallow, the cult-master of cinema reassured them that if the right movie came along, he wouldn’t necessarily turn it down; “If, later on, I come across a good movie, I won’t not do it just because I said I wouldn’t.”

Still, the PULP FICTION director seemed pretty at peace with his decision, concluding by saying; “But ten and done, leaving them wanting more, that sounds right.”

With news on THE HATEFUL EIGHT wrapping up with an official cast list, it looks like the tale of post Civil-War bounty hunters is set to tantalize audiences!

Tarantino has become hugely known for his cult classics such as RESERVOIR DOGS starring Tim Roth and Michael Madsen, INGLORIOUS BASTERDS with Brad Pitt and the brilliant DJANGO UNCHAINED featuring Jamie Lee Fox and Leonardo DiCaprio

If the “10 and I’m out” promise comes true, just who will take over as the king of cult!?
